There are many ways to serve
Selfless Ambition started as a response to crisis in our community. We needs lots of volunteers to make a difference in the disparity gap. Please consider helping families shop in a school food pantry, donate food or host a food drive.
"I wanted to reach out to you with deep gratitude for your support in getting our food pantry set up here at Glendale. Andy and Jenny have been phenomenal in leading our volunteers. They have gone above and beyond in supporting our families and community. We are grateful to be able to provide this service to our community in partnership with your organization. Thanks you so much for your work to support our community!" Sincerely, Ben Ketterer, Principal, Glendale Elementary.
School Food Pantry
Do you have an interest in reducing food insecurity in our schools? Children who are stressed about whether or not they have food at home are not able to learn at their full capacity. Join us as a School Food Pantry Volunteer at Glendale, Lake View or Leopold Elementary Schools.
You'll be assisting shoppers in choosing their food and keeping the shelves stocked and attractive. Helpers are needed the days and times the food pantry is open. Tues and Thurs 2 pm - 4 pm.
Selfless Ambition has identified 25 schools that have a poverty rate of 50% or higher in the Madison school district. We aim to eventually start food pantries in all schools with a high rate of poverty.
The WI Institute for Research on Poverty, tells us that 1 in 5 children lives in poverty and hunger
